Spam - junk e-mail - is a growing problem on the
Internet. Despite efforts to curb spamming, junk e-mail senders
continue to grow at an alarming rate. In fact, as of March 2003,
over 80% of all messages hitting our mail servers have been found to be
Spam!
Measures are taken to stop junk e-mail, but spammers
continue to find ever-inventive ways of getting messages to your Inbox.
To
help reduce the number of junk mail messages making it to a CrossPaths
mail account, we include anti-spam service with every CrossPaths.net e-mail account. With
CrossPaths.net Spam Control, messages are sent through a special content-sensitive scanner,
removing likely Spam messages based on adjustable criteria. These
messages are then held in your Quarantine for up to 14 days,
during which time you can view them and optionally either remove or
deliver them to your Inbox.
Of course, you can always disable Spam filtering if
you like, but even then we have systems in place to prevent common Spam
measures like e-mail harvesting and Spam attacks, keeping your account
as safe as possible.
